Invisible-in-the-Canal (IIC) Hearing Aids
The IIC is the smallest hearing aid model available. It has a custom made shell and all vital electronics are placed in the shell, providing an optimum and small fit.It is tiny enough to be placed very deep inside the ear canal, making it virtually invisible.
In-the-Ear (ITE) HearingAids
All parts of the hearing aid are contained in a shell that fits in the outer part of the ear. These aids are larger than In the canal (ITC) aids and may be easier to handle and maintain for some people than smaller devices.
In-the-Canal (ITC) and Completely-in-the-Canal (CIC) Hearing Aids
These hearing aids are contained in a tiny case that fits partly or completely into the ear canal. They are small in comparison to other hearing aids and therefore have a big aesthetic advantage in that they are barely visible.
Receiver-in-Canal Hearing Aids
These hearing aids look very similar toBehind-the-ear (BTE) model with a unique difference i.e., the speaker is placed inside the ear canal and thin electrical wires replace the acoustic tube which is seen in BTE. These aids also offer cosmetic and listening advantages and are typically used for adults.
Behind-the-Ear (BTE) HearingAids
All parts of the aid are contained in a small plastic case that rests behind the ear. The case is connected to an ear tip / earmold by a piece of tubing. This style is often chosen for young children for safety and growth reasons.
